How to use IP Address Converter
- Enter an IPv4 address such as 192.168.1.1.
- Select Convert IPv4 to see decimal, hexadecimal, binary, and octet values.
- Enter a decimal IPv4 number if you need to convert it back to dotted notation.
- Use the result for documentation, firewall notes, subnet review, or troubleshooting.
Why IP format conversion matters
Most people read IPv4 addresses in dotted decimal notation, but logs, APIs, databases, firewall exports, and older network systems may store the same address as a 32-bit decimal integer, hexadecimal value, or binary string. Converting formats helps confirm that two systems are referring to the same address.
Limitations
This converter is for IPv4. IPv6 addresses use a different notation and are not represented as a simple 32-bit value. Do not use converted values alone for access-control decisions unless you also confirm the address range, subnet, and source system.
